SOCIOECONOMIC STUDY


 The diagrams regarding the evolution of the inhabitants’ number indicate a diminution. So, in 2002, the weights of population with the age between 0 and 44 years and that with the age over 45 years are equal.

 The diagrams regarding the evolution of the inhabitants’ number on age groups and sexes indicate on one side the decrease of the birth rate and a slow process of aging of the population, and on another side a balance relatively poised, in 2002, between the weight of women’s number and that of the men’s number. Still, women are prevalent.

 The evolution of the ratio resulted from the quotient of inhabitants’ number divided by that of dwellings’ number indicates a slow increase of the comfort: 10.3 m˛/person in 1992 comes to 12 m˛/person in 2002.

 The diagram of the consumptions’ evolution indicates an increase, fact which denotes an increase of the comfort level.

 In 1992, the percent of employed population was 47.36% from the total number of the inhabitants and 91.74% from the total number of the inhabitants with ages between 20 and 65 years. In 2002, the percent of employees was 8.21% from the total number of the inhabitants and 15.20% from the total number of the inhabitants with ages between 20 and 65 years.

 The main occupations are the same: land cultivation (potatoes, wheat, corn, and sunflower), breeding and fishing, but in the last period an increase preoccupation for the touristic offer development can be added. The activities of the nowadays commercial societies are: agriculture, breeding, fish breeding, commerce and tourism. The arable land cultivated diminished from 850 ha to 700 ha.

 The touristic offer is generous, the quality of the services going from the rural tourism to the five stars pensions.

 Public services are missing.

 The ethnical and religious composition indicates that beside the Romanians, Ukraineans, Lipovans and Turks are living.
