The locality is placed in the Plain of Dunavăţ, at the eastern extremity of Tulcea’s Hills.

The landscape is dominated by the vegetation specific for chestnut soils and the ground water exceeds 5 m.

In time, the landscape has been modified because of the draining of the land easily flooded situated between the road Murighiol – Dunavăţu de Sus and Lipovans channel. This draining was made in order to utilize the land for agriculture, but it caused the soil degradation.

The climate is influenced by the Danube proximity. Winter is mild (average temperature: -0.4°C) and summer is warm (average temperature: 21.6° C) and the year average temperature is 11° C. The year average quantity of precipitations is 444.5 mm.

Nowadays, the nature is not affected by any pollution or human factor.

The placement of the village, in the Lipovans channel proximity, the special aesthetic value of the landscape, the possibility of easy travel into the deltaic and lagoon space are aspects which design the special profile of this locality.
