Location

Murighiol village (meaning Violet Lake in Turkish) is situated at the southeastern part of the county, 45 km by road and 53 km by water from Tulcea municipality. The locality belongs administratively to the commune Murighiol, as well as the villages Plopul (6 km far), Sarinasuf (10 km far), Colina (13 km far), Dunavăţul de Sus (5 km far), Dunavăţul de Jos (8 km far) and Uzlina (6 km far). Murighiol can be reached using the county road Tulcea-Murighiol or using the water way (Tulcea branch – Sfântu Gheorghe branch – Franţuzului stream).
