SOCIOECONOMIC STUDY

 It comes out a decrease of the inhabitants’ number. The diagrams regarding the distribution on age groups reveal the fact that the weight of active population is big, and the balance between the women’s’ number and the men’s number is poised.

 The average number of the persons who inhabit an average surface of 32 m˛ is 3.27, fact which indicates that the comfort level is about 10 m˛/person.

 The number of employees represents 24.47% from the total number of the inhabitants and 39.82% from the number of the inhabitants with age between 20 and 65 years. This reflects the fact that a big number of inhabitants capable to work are not employed. An important part of the inhabitants own land and have as main activity the land cultivation. From a total of 4028 ha of arable soil, 3672 ha are cultivated.

 The analysis of the ethnical and religious composition indicates the presence of an obvious majority of Romanians. Turks and Gypsies are present, too.

 The main occupations of the inhabitants are the land cultivation and the commerce. Corn, wheat, sunflower are cultivated.

 The touristic offer (accommodation) reflects the promotion of the tourism for persons without many comfort pretensions.

 The public services are minimal.
