Announcement

  1. Purpose of the award

The Center is launching the “International Award for Intangible Heritage at Risk. Mitigation Initiatives,” aimed at activities carried out during the previous calendar year by public and private entities.

  1. Admission requirements

Public Bodies Section – Applications may be submitted by: public administrations, local authorities, cultural institutions, and public bodies that have designed and implemented initiatives aimed at reducing risks to intangible cultural heritage.

Private Entities Section – Applications may be submitted by: associations, foundations, NGOs, cultural enterprises, and traditional knowledge holders who have implemented similar initiatives.

The initiatives must have been completed or made operational during the previous year.

  1. How to participate

Participation is free and implies acceptance of this announcement.

Applications should be submitted by sending the following documents to univeur@univeur.org:

  • completed form;
  • descriptive report of the project;
  • supporting documentation (photographs, videos, reports);
  • relevant declarations requested (truthfulness, release, data processing).
  1. Deadlines for submission

Applications must be submitted no later than Friday, September 4, 2026.

  1. Evaluation criteria

The Commission will evaluate the applications according to the following criteria:

  1. Significance of the risk faced – ability to identify and analyze risks to intangible heritage;
  2. Effectiveness of the intervention – concrete results in mitigating or preventing risk.
  3. Innovativeness – innovative nature of the approach adopted;
  4. Community engagement – ​​active participation of stakeholders and local communities;
  5. Sustainability and replicability – the ability to maintain and replicate the initiative over time.

 

  1. Commissione esaminatrice

The Commission is appointed by the President of the Center and is composed of Italian and international experts who are members of the Scientific Committee.

The Commission’s decisions are final.

  1. Award

A winning project will be selected for each section.

The Award consists of:

  • an official recognition;
  • a local craft item from the Amalfi Coast
  • Participation in the awards ceremony at the conference “The Role of Local Communities in Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage within Historic Complexes and Monuments,” which will be held from November 8th to 11th in Ravello.
  • Description of the best projects in a special issue of Territori della Cultura
  1. Obligations of the winners

Winners will be required to provide multimedia materials for the public presentation of the winning initiative.

  1. Use of materials

The Center reserves the right to use the submitted materials for scientific and educational purposes, citing the authors.

  1. Processing of personal data

Personal data will be processed in compliance with current legislation exclusively for purposes related to the Award.
