10th Course: The Future of the Past. The Library Between Tradition and Technological Innovation. Preservation, Enhancement, and Promotion of Audiovisual Heritage.

Ravello, November 7-11, 2006

In collaboration with the Discoteca di Stato-Museo dell’Audiovisivo and with the support of the Campania Region – Museums and Libraries Department.

The course aims to provide a broad overview of issues concerning audiovisual assets in Italy and abroad, covering institutional, legal, administrative, managerial, and technological perspectives.

This theme fits coherently into the program “The Future of the Past: The Library Between Tradition and Technological Innovation,” which the Ravello Centre has been developing for a decade now through the organization of annual courses of excellence.

Audiovisual materials are an integral part of national and international cultural heritage, and the application of cutting-edge technologies enables the broad, innovative dissemination of information and knowledge—one of the institutional mandates of libraries and archives.
