On October 5, 2017, the presentation of issue No. 28 of *Territori della Cultura* took place in Rome at the CNEL’s *Parlamentino* (conference hall). This monograph, published by the Centre’s online journal, was dedicated to the theme: “Territory, existing built environment, and protection of cultural heritage.” The Ravello Centre’s commitment to this field dates back to 1987; indeed, this year marked the 30th anniversary of the Open Partial Agreement on Major Hazards (EUR-OPA)—an initiative launched in Ravello by the Council of Europe—within which the Centre handles training related to safeguarding cultural heritage in seismic risk zones. Following opening remarks by CNEL President Tiziano Treu, several contributors to the monograph spoke: Piero Pierotti and Editor-in-Chief Pietro Graziani—who initiated the project and oversaw its editing—and Ferruccio Ferrigni, the Centre’s activity coordinator, who has long been dedicated to research and analysis on this subject. The discussion was further enriched by contributions from Gianni Massa, Senior Vice President of the National Council of Engineers; Franco Peduto, President of the National Council of Geologists; Maurizio Di Stefano, President Emeritus of ICOMOS; Stefano De Caro, Director of ICCROM; and Gianvittorio Rizzani, representing CUGRI (Inter-university Consortium for the Prediction and Prevention of Major Risks). Alfonso Andria, President of CUEBC, introduced and moderated the proceedings.
