In the prestigious venue of the British School, on Tuesday, September 27th, 2011, the volume ‘Ship-sheds for Naval Vessels in the Ports of the Ancient and Medieval Mediterranean’ was presented. The book is published by the European University Centre for Cultural Heritage within the ‘Archaeology, History, Culture’ editorial series.”
“Following the greetings of Prof. Simon Keay (Research Professor in Archaeology at the same School and Professor of Roman Archaeology at the University of Southampton) and a necessary introduction by the President of the Ravello Centre, Sen. Alfonso Andria, the floor was given to the editors of the volume: Maria Costanza Lentini, Director of the Archaeological Park of Naxos and Taormina, and David Blackman, former Director of the British School at Athens. Comments on the volume were then provided by Licia Vlad Borrelli, former Central Inspector for Archaeology of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage; Alessandra Molinari of the University of Rome ‘Tor Vergata’; and Stefano De Caro of the University of Naples ‘Federico II’.”
