“Culture as a development axis for inland areas, sustainable landscape regeneration and protection, and the improvement of service provision to foster community growth, alongside the development of ‘socio-cultural’ enterprises—these are just some of the themes explored during the sessions of the 2021 edition of Ravello Lab – International Colloquia and condensed into the Recommendations presented on Thursday, June 23rd, starting at 4:30 PM. The initiative was established sixteen years ago through the partnership between the European University Centre for Cultural Heritage and Federculture, and has always been open to the participation of public and private stakeholders.
Speakers included: Alfonso Andria, President of the European University Centre for Cultural Heritage; Umberto Croppi, Director of Federculture; Alessandra Vittorini, Director of the Foundation School for Cultural Heritage and Activities, which, alongside Federculture, partners with the Centre for the implementation of the annual event; Alberto Bonisoli, President of Formez, partner of Ravello Lab 2021; Fabio Pollice, Rector of the University of Salento; and Pierpaolo Forte, University of Sannio. The proceedings were concluded by Giampaolo D’Andrea, Advisor to the Minister of Culture.
During the three-day Ravello Lab event (October 14–16, 2021), experts, administrators, scholars, and professionals from the relevant sectors exchanged views within two thematic panels: ‘Cultural Landscape and Inland Areas. Strategic planning and integrated design in the time of the Restart’, coordinated by Prof. Fabio Pollice; and ‘The socio-cultural enterprise’, coordinated by Prof. Pierpaolo Forte. The subsequent work produced the Recommendations, which represent the outcome of the debate and serve as guidelines to assist professionals and policymakers in initiatives aimed at enhancing cultural heritage, supporting creative industries, and fostering territorial development.”
