The CUEBC played a pioneering role in the genesis of this agreement, having promoted its creation and hosted the first ministerial meetings in Ravello between 1985 and 1986 \n\nWithin the network of Euro-Mediterranean specialized centers, the Center holds the scientific responsibility for the protection of cultural heritage in at-risk areas. Of particular significance is the project on 'Local Seismic Cultures'\u2014a term coined precisely in Ravello\u2014which studies how traditional construction techniques have ensured the resilience of historical buildings over the centuries.
